The prestigious American Bankers Association®, which actively interacts with the financial and banking industry on laws, education, and enforcement of IRS and FDIC rules, has a professional certification education program that is second to none. This program is called the Institute of Certified Bankers. The Institute trains, runs examination, and demands the highest standards of continuing education in the banking industry. Their goal and the goal of Mountain West IRA is to assure both our current and potential clients that they are working with the most experienced, qualified, and ethical IRA officers and administrators in our business. ICB certifications are a vital component of that commitment. The Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) is a program that demands a minimum of 3 years of working with clients in the IRA industry. The candidate must complete hours of training and extensive testing, and receive the recommendation and endorsement of a current CISP. No certification programs are more rigorous or more respected than those developed by the ABA Institute of Certified Bankers.
Mountain West IRA now has three designated CISPs, Jon A. Galane, Karen Georgeson, and Megan Galane which demonstrates that we are up to date on industry laws and regulations and give our clients peace of mind that they are getting the most accurate and up-to-date information. Our continuing education also creates a measurable benchmark for our development as a superior IRA administrator. Through our commitment to the CISP program we further provide an objective measure of competence, dedication, and superior service for our clients.
Jon Galane, CISP
Jon A. Galane, CISP has been in the financial planning and investment business for over 32 years and held several National Association of Securities Dealers licenses including Broker/Dealer Supervisor and Licensed Investment Advisor. During his career, he has been a top producing investment advisor with Morgan Stanley, earning the title Vice President, and was the well-respected sales manager of the Las Vegas Complex. As a successful professional business person he was recognized in the 2002 edition of the National Register’s “Who’s Who, Executives and Professionals” and the 2011 Heritage “Who’s Who” register.
Jon is currently a member of the American Banking Association and Institute of Certified Bankers as a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP). Jon is also a nationally recognized speaker on self-directed IRAs, real estate investing, and economic strategies. His accolades include speaking with: Lee Arnold, Robert Shemin, New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 13 books and real estate investment mogul Ron LeGrand, Tom DiAgostino, and many others.
Jon is principal of Mountain West IRA, Inc. As a published author on self-direction using asset allocation and diversification, he coined the term “Alternative Asset Allocation Portfolio.” He has in the past hosted the radio show “How to Self-Direct Your Retirement”, the only show in the nation at the time on investing your retirement plans in real-estate related investments.

Lisa Galane has over 20 years in the services industry with the last 12 directly related to financial services in the retirement planning field. Lisa joined Jon at Morgan Stanley in 1999 as an investment advisor and his partner. Over the years Lisa became an expert in back office client services, compliance and qualitative procedural analysis.
Lisa advanced to the back office investment advisory services of Wells Fargo Bank, leaving in 2006 to join Mountain West IRA, Inc. full-time. Lisa has spearheaded the growth and superb client services division of the company through her wealth of back office knowledge and superior client services procedures and background.
Karen Georgeson, CISP
Karen Georgeson, General Manager, is a member of the American Banking Association and Institute of Certified Bankers as a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP). Karen became Mountain West IRA’s original employee in 2007 prior to returning to college to finish her degree. Karen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Ecology from the University of Idaho and worked as a field biologist and data management specialist before returning to the financial services industry with Mountain West IRA in 2012.
Karen provides training and coaching for our staff to ensure each team member has the knowledge and tools needed to carry out operational duties and ensure a positive experience for our clients. Karen is committed to our superior client services procedures and enjoys sharing these skills with the Mountain West IRA team.

Shelly Smith, Chief Financial Officer, has been with Mountain West IRA since June of 2008. She has over 15 years’ experience in business, finance and accounting. Shelly is responsible for accounts payable, human resources and general day-to-day fiscal operations of the company. Outside work, Shelly’s passions are her husband and 4 daughters, all things Wonder Woman, gardening and a really good cup of coffee.

Megan Galane, CISP
Director of Business Development
Megan Galane, Director of Business Development, is a member of the American Banking Association and Institute of Certified Bankers as a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP). She moved to Clearwater, Florida from Salt Lake City, Utah after completing her Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sport Science. In her free time, Megan enjoys all things real estate and soaking up the Florida sun with her dog Baby. Megan acts as a point person for potential clients, she also provides training to the Business Development Team to ensure a positive experience for potential clients and clients. Accounts Receivable Team
Jolene Thomas, Bookkeeper/HR Assistant, oversees our Accounts Receivable Department and is responsible for assisting the CFO with multiple tasks throughout the business. She moved to Boise from San Diego, California in June 2017 and has a background in aquatics teaching swim lessons, lifeguarding, and coaching Water Polo at her former High School. Outside of work, she enjoys boating, fishing, and exploring all that Idaho has to offer.

Jessica Howard, Accounts Receivable Clerk, is a small town girl who is loving the city of Boise. Jessica was born and raised in Bliss, Idaho and graduated as Student Body President with high honors in 2014. She has shown hard work and dedication with experience in management, hospitality, and healthcare. Jessica loves anything fall-related. She especially enjoys hunting duck, whitetail deer, and steelhead fishing with her family.

Asset Maintenance Specialist
Alex Howard, Asset Maintenance Specialist, was born and raised in Idaho and graduated from Boise State University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Linguistics. She has worked in client service since high school and enjoys assisting clients and providing a great experience. She loves being outdoors, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. With two dogs - a husky named Saber and a yellow lab, Lilah, you can always find Alex and her husband in the backyard playing fetch or cuddling with them on the couch.

Sam Murray, Director of Asset Maintenance, is currently studying Political Science at Boise State University and has enjoyed the Idaho outdoors her whole life. When it's too cold to spend long time periods outside she likes to watch horror and adventure movies, and also enjoys a good book. She loves spending time with her family, especially her 5 younger siblings.

Shauna Lileks, Asset Maintenance Specialist at Mountain West IRA. A transplant from Arizona she moved to Boise, Idaho in 2002. She has 15 years of financial customer service experience having worked for U.S. Bank and Citi Bank. She loves spending time with family and friends camping and exploring the Pacific Northwest. She has four daughters and five grandchildren. Two of her daughters are married and their husbands currently serve our country, which makes her an extremely proud mom. Shauna also enjoys the arts of media communication and spends time editing videos and pictures of her family’s explorations and gatherings.

Business Development Specialist
Bianca Krueger, Business Development Specialist, is a born and raised Floridian who works in our Clearwater, Florida office. She received her Associate Degree in Business Accounting and has worked in the customer service industry for 9 years. She has been with Mountain West IRA since 2017. She assists all clients with the initial processes of opening and funding their accounts as well as assisting clients with online access. In her free time, she loves spending days at the beach and is in love with all things fitness and health.

Diana Hoff, Business and Marketing Coordinator, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management from George Fox University. With over 30 years in customer service related positions, she loves the all the direct contact with Mountain West IRA clients. She can answer your questions, help you set up your new account and can guide you through the Transfer and Rollover process. Having used a computer since the early days of DOS many folks think she is a techie at heart. But don’t be surprised if you spot her and her daughter, in full Elizabethan garb at the next renaissance fair, shooting targets with an English longbow.

Megan Brenneman, Assistant Director of Business Development, has over 15 years customer service experience. She spent 8 years in the beauty industry, 2 of those years instructing students at a local beauty college. Megan truly enjoys helping clients with any issues or questions they may have. In her free time she enjoys watching Boise State football (GO BSU!), camping, riding her jet skis, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Crystal Stoddard, Compliance Officer, has been with Mountain West IRA since May of 2016. She graduated from Boise State University in December 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She enjoys assisting clients with questions on their accounts, and walking them through different investment processes so that everything is done correctly. When she’s not working, she can be found curled up reading a book or doing one of her crafts if her son (Raiden) or Black Lab (Chewy) will let her.

Amie Roper, Compliance Coordinator, grew up in Baker City Oregon where she lived and loved the country life. She moved to Idaho in 2010 with her family to give them more opportunities. She has over 20 years of customer service with over 6 of them running her own business in the beauty industry. She loves to help people and strives to make everyone’s day just a little better. With 4 kids she is constantly on the go but she loves to be outdoors as much as possible to enjoy the beauty in nature. Family and friend gatherings make up much of her spare time but she still finds time for some music and a good book.

Raegan Rubio, Director of Transactions, grew up in a small town in central Illinois. After high school she moved with her family to the Dominican Republic to serve those in need as missionaries. After a year, she moved to California. There she met her husband and has been happily married for three years. Raegan and her husband recently moved to Idaho and have been enjoying the cool weather. Raegan loves reading, music, movies, and art, as well as her cat, Bobbi, and new puppy, Watson.

Tiara Ostic, Transactions Coordinator, is thrilled to now call Boise, Idaho her hometown having moved there from California in 2015. Tiara is passionate about customer service and has been honing that skill for almost 10 years. Beginning with her first job in high school, she found that she truly enjoyed interacting with people and providing help in various settings. In her spare time Tiara enjoys being outdoors with her family and two fur babies.

Adriane Hull, Transaction Coordinator, was originally born in Iowa before her family made the move to Boise 3 years later, and she’s been here ever since. She went to college at the University of Idaho, majoring in Statistics, and was a part of the Sound of Idaho Marching Band for 4 years, after finding her passion in Color Guard in her high school band. She has been honing her customer service skills for over 6 years, and truly enjoys helping people. Outside of work, Adriane loves to relax with music, movies, good food, or a new book.
